Health Monitoring Laboratory
Laboratory Animals: The health monitoring (HM) of laboratory rodents builds the foundation for preserving animal health and ensuring the validity of research data.
At Central Animal Facility rodent Sentinel program is followed to detect infections that may be present within the colony without having to test all the animals of the colony. HM Sample are collected at a fixed frequency and tested by various test methods to detect the presence/absence of pathogens.
Test Frequency: Quarterly
Test Methods: ELISA, PCR, Microscopy, Hematology analysis
Staff: Health check-up of Central Animal Facility staff, attenders and maintenance personnel is performed on annual basis.
